THE GLOBAL HUNGER CRISIS

The World Faces a Catastrophic Hunger Crisis

Conflicts are escalating, the climate crisis is deepening, global inequality is widening, and cuts are being made to humanitarian funding. The threat of hunger has grown to a crisis on a vast scale, devastating millions of lives across dozens of countries.

Today, approximately 828 million people go to bed hungry every night. The number of people facing acute food insecurity has surged to 345 million – the highest on record. Children are paying the heaviest price.

Countries Most Affected

East Africa

Drought, conflict, and economic collapse have left millions in Kenya, Ethiopia, and Somalia facing starvation. Four consecutive failed rainy seasons have destroyed crops and livestock.

West Africa

The Sahel region is experiencing unprecedented food insecurity. In countries like Nigeria, Burkina Faso, and Mali, conflict has displaced millions and disrupted food production.

Yemen

Eight years of conflict have pushed Yemen to the brink of famine. Over 21 million people need food assistance, and the situation continues to deteriorate.

Afghanistan

Economic collapse and ongoing crisis have left millions without enough to eat. Children are bearing the brunt of this humanitarian catastrophe.

We provide emergency food supplies, cash transfers, and vouchers to help families buy food immediately.

Nutrition Programs

We treat severely malnourished children and provide supplementary feeding to prevent children from slipping into malnutrition.

Livelihood Support

We help families rebuild their lives by providing seeds, tools, and training to restart food production.
