YEMEN CRISIS: CHILDREN BEAR THE BRUNT OF ONGOING CONFLICT
The humanitarian situation in Yemen remains dire, with children facing malnutrition and disease.
Yemen remains the world's worst humanitarian crisis. After nearly a decade of conflict, children continue to pay the highest price. Malnutrition, disease, and violence have created a catastrophe that shows no signs of ending.
A Generation in Crisis
More than 11 million children in Yemen need humanitarian assistance. That's nearly every child in the country. They face:
- Severe acute malnutrition - the highest rate in the world
- Cholera and other disease outbreaks due to poor sanitation
- Violence and exploitation
- No access to education - 2 million children are out of school
- Psychological trauma from years of war
The Hunger Crisis
Yemen is on the brink of famine. The economy has collapsed, imports are blocked, and prices are skyrocketing. Families simply cannot afford to feed their children. The result is devastating levels of malnutrition.
Our Response
Save the Children is one of the largest humanitarian organizations in Yemen. We provide:
- Therapeutic food to treat severely malnourished children
- Clean water and sanitation to prevent disease
- Health services in hard-to-reach areas
- Cash assistance to help families buy food
- Psychosocial support for traumatized children
What Can Be Done
The solution is not just more aid - it's peace. We continue to call for an end to the conflict so that children can rebuild their lives. In the meantime, we need funding to continue our life-saving work.
